The field of high frequency electronics creates many problems for the designer and manufacturer of electrical components. LITZ Wire Applications Problems caused by long lengths of copper running parallel to each other have been documented by designers and manufacturers for many years. Problems include "electrical noise", inductance and capacitance losses and at high frequency, skin effect losses where the electrons move on the outer skin of the copper, not uniformly as at lower frequency. By using the materials known as "LITZ" High Frequency wires, these losses and the resulting design problems can be minimised. LITZ wires are essentially a bunch of twisted wires where the same wire is transposed along the length of the wire strand and is only in proximity to its neighbour for the minimum length. Therefore maximising the number of insulated wires in a given cross section gives significant reduction in eddy current losses and almost negates the skin effect problems. LITZ Wire Advantages high electrical strength LITZ Wire Availability Almost any combination of wire and insulation thickness is available together with outer insulation depending on the voltage gradient, resistance and physical characteristics required.
Each enquiry is priced individually to minimise the cost.
